Katrina Gatson, Master Stylist
It all started with a stylist.
When a former relationship wreaked havoc on her emotions, Katrina "Kat" Gatson found herself leaning on the person so many women turn to in their time of turmoil: Her hairstylist. Realizing what a huge impact a stylist can have on a woman's life, Kat was inspired to pursue her own beauty career. She packed up and left her native Michigan, relocating to Los Angeles where she enrolled in the prestigious Paul Mitchell School.
Three years later, armed with a top cosmetology education, she began her career in Encino, California, working simultaneously as a stylist in a Paul Mitchell concept salon and as a Paul Mitchell educator, traveling through Southern California training other stylists.
She recently opened her own salon, Kurlfriend by Kat, in Encino's trendy Butterfly Lounge where she services an elite, diverse clientele of Angelenos.
Kat specializes in healthy, dynamic color, precision cuts, and hair extensions.
